I am half Spanish and grew up understanding Spanish but not really speaking it much or knowing how to read and write it, until I started learning formally around age 9. I then went on to complete my GCSE at night school at age 16. I furthered my studies at Lancaster University, where I received the distinction in spoken Spanish, which is only awarded to one person each year.

As well as communicating with family, I worked as an au-pair in Asturias in northern Spain for 3 months and then undertook an Erasmus placement at the university of Bilbao as part of my degree. After graduating I returned to live and work in Spain, writing interactive language learning courses.

I feel I am uniquely placed to understand how to learn the language and the things that people find tricky to master in their Spanish language learning journey. I have been teaching Spanish full time since since 2017 and have won several awards for my children’s franchise Kidslingo Spanish Nuneaton & Hinckley.
